From Wall Street to the Priesthood: The Inspiring Journey of Fr. Daniel Reehil

This video tells the remarkable story of Fr. Daniel Reehil, who transitioned from a successful career as a Wall Street banker to becoming a Catholic priest. His journey is marked by profound spiritual experiences and a deep calling to serve God.

Fr. Daniel’s early life was marked by trauma, leading him to leave the Church for over two decades [00:58]. Despite achieving financial success in banking, he felt unfulfilled [01:10]. A turning point came during a trip to Medjugorje in 1998, where he experienced a profound sense of peace [02:43].

Following a long-overdue confession, a priest suggested he had a vocation to the priesthood [03:33]. After 18 months of prayer and spiritual direction, he heard a divine call to “come follow me” [06:51]. This led him to resign from his job and seek God’s path [07:23]. The events of 9/11 further solidified his calling, and he eventually found himself ministering in Boston [08:01].

After spending five years as a contemplative hermit [11:13], he returned to New York, facing challenges due to his age and unconventional background [13:11]. In a moment of surrender, he asked God to send a bishop to call him if priesthood was truly his destiny [13:40]. Three months later, Bishop David Chobe of Tennessee did just that, and ordained him [13:52].

Fr. Daniel’s journey came full circle when, as a priest, he returned to Medjugorje and reunited with the priest who had guided him years earlier [15:14]. He now ministers in Medjugorje, celebrating Mass and hearing confessions [16:24].

This story is a testament to the power of faith, the possibility of transformation, and the unexpected ways in which God can call us to serve.
